hmm No... I am in year 12 (Final Year of school) in aussie. Doing an IT course (Certificate III) and i was doing the hardest maths in year 11 but it isnt that hard. Just a bunch of X's and Y's a bit of DY/DX ( Gradient) formulas but.. anyway I dont have bad grammar or spelling. I was one of the best spellers in Primary School.

So currently your doing the HSC plus TAFE...as HSC doesn't include certificates in IT unless it's in a Vocational Course.
Which area in IT (Programming or Networking)?? I didn't say IS as that is an Advanced Diploma!!

I forgot basic programming skills is a compulsory component of Certificate III/IV in Information Technology, after Cert IV you get to choose which line of the Diploma (Software Design or Network Engineering + Administration), I believe Network Engineering is the better line, more job opportunities.
But as soon as you leave High School or even before you leave, book yourself into a Private College and finish your Diploma, it might cost a lot more but you get one on one training instead of class training...look at me I did all my certificates & Diploma at a private institution and yet I for a brilliant company who is very well known
(not mentioning which one)

Apple's are difficult to fix, but I like your determination on learning a product which is far more advanced than a normal IBM compatible pc...I like fixing pc's except for 2 brands HP and Compaq, maybe because when I was a kid I hated Lego!!

Apples arent that hard to fix when you look at it. Like the classics are dangerous to open but anyway they dont really need fixing

very true, but the older they are the more complicated they are...thats why you will need tonnes and tonnes of experience with them and the only way to get experience with taking apart old macs is to find someone who deals with older macs, and they are hard to find...when I mean hard to find, I mean basically impossible!!
With newer macs, they need very little servicing...unless you want a cd rom/burner or dvd rom/burner installed, which to me is a five - ten minute job!!

I know if you touch the wire (covered) leading to the monitor it can be fatal...
I DID have a wonderful Powerbook 150 until its monitor cable came out... (not fatal to repair this one)
I put it back in and the mouse died from previous attempts to get it working.
NOW THE HDD Is dead because of damage from my father....

hmmm...if I worked independently yes I would fix it, but because of lack of work I can not fix it sorry Wal...Plus my schedule is too busy!!

its ok its broken . its the plastic cable connected to and from the drive's card . I would try to take the write thing out and put it into the other one but...

But it's the same with PC's, nobody takes apart a power supply, it's common sense...
The easiest and simplest way is you go down to the local computer shop and purchase one for $25 - $50 and throw the old one away, yeah it costs money but saves a life, unless you forget to change the settings!!

I only open the power supply to clean the fan out..
that is the most common problem

D'Wall has kanobied again and turned a general forum into a specific one. Perhaps dear EmmZee (M.H.N.B.E.P.) will peeeeeelll off the past page worth and give the big apple worm discussion it's own hole to stew in.
