Still, WHY you'd want Vista is still the main question here!

Seems a lot of you missed that one:
I can run the latest games in high settings on it, in XP I must use low settings in 800x600.
FYI: I use it, it's darned much faster for gaming than XP.dosraider wrote:Or don't do this:
Simply download a gamers Vista that is easily findable on the WaReZ sites.
Ripped from everything you don't need, and that's plenty ! Leaves one (1!) install CD , yes: 1 CD and perfect for gaming (not 'online' of course). 64-bit and darned faster than XP.
Ideal for dual boot, and multigaming via LAN.
You're a bad person if you should do that.
As you won't do that, I also don't have to tell you to be carefull, several warezed Vistas are worthless, even dangerous, so know what you're doing.

I didn't think you could run 32bit apps in x64...dosraider wrote:Seems a lot of you missed that one:

I'm not interested in whatever 8-16-32 b apps that don't run in Vista, That's for my Xp or older systems.dosraider wrote: I can run the latest games ....
It's about the speed on the higher game settings you get with those ripped Vistas, they ARE fast.
And yes, games run pretty good in Vista, much better than in XP. Newer games that is of course, you really don't need Vista for Wing Commander.
But for FarCry,TombRaider Legend and Anniversary, FEAR, STALKER and such ....

But wouldn't they have to be x64 games too? I mean, 32bit apps included games. lol.dosraider wrote:I'm not interested in whatever 8-16-32 b apps that don't run in Vista, That's for my Xp or older systems.dosraider wrote: I can run the latest games ....

No, all (-or most-) newer games run in Vista, keep in mind it's on my single core AMD64, most problems occur with dual cores.
But you can run them by selecting a single core in settings, of course that's for crying out loud, as a half dual core is per definition slower then a normal single core as mine.
