1. Control + Click
2. Use a two-button mouse

You must be using System 8 or Mac OS 10.0. Because the Macs shouldn't lock up like that.

Yes, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups was solid as a rock. More stable than Windows 95/98/ME were (or its earlier predecessors, Windows 3.1 and 3.0).

But without the ability to run modern 32-bit software, it is fairly old and obsolete. (Although one of my college teachers noted that the RCMP were running Windows 3.x as late as the year 2000!).

But if you have an older computer and don't need newer 32-bit software, or if you have 32-bit software that is compatible with WIN32S, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups is the way to go!

Now yeah, let's keep this a bit reasonable shall we ?

After all it's a dosgames board so let's look at the dosgame'ing under W3.x.

Many dosgames will run really good under W3.x.
Several dosgames will run pretty jerky and with real bad sound on W3.x.
Others will even not run.

Maybe a bit strange when you think about the fact that the W3.Xkernel is in fact dosbased, but it's so.
It's due to the mix dos drivers/own W3.X drivers.

Some examples?
Falcon 3, crippled sound in W3.X.
Wing Commander, you will miss half the nice soundtracks.
Comanche (1), real hard to get running under W3.X.

So yes, W3.X ( and certainly W3.11) were pretty stable in their times, but pretty worthless on a modern PC.
Even if I personally still have it in VPC, it's real rare I boot it up.

It is obsolate, the past, anything you could do in it you can do better and faster on XP.

Yes abyss, learn to set up a steady XP before stating constantly what's the best OS in your opinion.

Or a good W98SE PC, it beats the hell out of W3.11. Even in dosgames, yes.
And certainly in 'whatever' application.

I have 2 friends who are on Dyne for multimedia projects, I think it beats XP media for video/audio editing.

But they keep their XP for other thingies ..... gaming and such.

Simply dual boot Dyne/XP , easy to do, and you have best of both worlds.

Remember that XP runs fine on FAT32 partitions, even as Dyne.

Windows 3.1x is about as stable a mac and yet it is better it is also better at gaming and you can run 32 bit games if you install win g and win32. Windows 3.1x is a lot more easier to use than mac and a lot more easier to use than the other windows versions. It is the easiest to use operating system. Windows 3.1x may not be the best at gaming but it is a lot better than mac at gaming.

Yeah, I don't use any of those. Linux is my favorite but I also like FreeDOS.

I've done it for you this time, don't expect I will always do so, delete your double post is easier and faster.

Yeah, but which distro? Saying that you like Linux is like saying you like boxed cereal. It's not really informative.
