I would have put jackrabbit in my favourites too, if it hadnt been for the horrible collision detection system. until I finished the game, I remember getting stuck *inside* the walls tens of times. andI started getting paranoic. thats why Jackrabbit didnt leave suh a good taste to em. (although visuals+sounds+atmosphere were ultra good.)

At least *someone* here has good taste. Yes, Tyrian is one of my favorites along with Star Command, SC2, Solar Winds and Radix. I do believe Tyrian has yet to be succeeded by a more advanced or intricate foward scrolling shooter-granted those aren't too common these days.
