...Over 70 different, diverse levels, two bonus campaigns (not missions, campaigns!) tons of weapons (from Nukes to hyper blasters to bananas to hot dogs!), hilarious messages, and a wonderfully dark plotline where you get to watch the main character slowly go insane...

And a sad, depressing ending.

I think that we're talking about two different games.

I was talking about Tyrian by Epic Megagames, downloadable from the space shooters section of Dosgames.com. What game are you talking about?
"You believe me," I said gratefully.
"Of course I do," and he held out his hand. "I believe everything out of the common. The only thing to distrust is the normal."

It has a depressing ending if you get the registered version? Since there isn't much chance I'll buy the registered version, would you tell me what happens?

I'm sure you will Kazer.
"You believe me," I said gratefully.
"Of course I do," and he held out his hand. "I believe everything out of the common. The only thing to distrust is the normal."

Now that I think about it, I should have voted for space shooter. Blast. Oh well.

You shoot hot dogs in Tyrian?
"You believe me," I said gratefully.
"Of course I do," and he held out his hand. "I believe everything out of the common. The only thing to distrust is the normal."

Is there a shareware version of 2000 I can download? Or is it AW now?
"You believe me," I said gratefully.

Tyrian 2000 is really just an improved version of Tyrian, not a sequel. It's just formatted so it works on modern computers, as well as adding the stuff DB mentioned. The standard levels are pretty much the same, though.

On the original, you can shoot the hotdogs and bananas. That wasnt added.

And yes, Tyrian 2000 is NOT a sequil. Its just what da_goat said.

It is in the sense that you have an entire new campaign that adds to the story as well as 2 bonus campaigns and acompaning secrete missions along with new ones. (making the game, say, twice as large?)

I have yet to see these bonus campaigns. There are 5 in the game, and when you beat those, it goes back to the first. Ive beaten the game more than once.

...

There are 7 campaigns, two bonus. (or was it three?)

What version are you playing, Kazer0? I KNOW they are there. You have to beat a campaign to access it.
