Or, you could be hip about it and use "2".
Good that we have emmzee here, let's see what his site has to say about the subject:See Larry, that's helpful.People seldom mix “two” up with the other two; it obviously belongs with words that also begin with TW, like “twice” and “twenty” that involve the number 2. But the other two are confused all the time. Just remember that the only meanings of “too” are “also” (“I want some ice cream too.”) and “in excess” (“Your walkman is playing too loudly.”). Note that extra O. It should remind you that this word has to do with adding more on to something. “To” is the proper spelling for all the other uses.

Hey... Um, I read through the whole topic just to be sure. But I got everything set up, the virtual pc the win98 and even have an ISO of the disk. but when i can manage to get it working, it seems too slow to DO anything, keep getting chopped up on the first level because when i move and stuff it skips and jumps instead of flowing the way it should.
I wonder if this is something to do with the Win98 program or if i have a bad version of the game (it appears to not be in english) or what. I have 64bit Vista and i used this site to download all the essentials i could see, can anyone give me a hand?
(and, i apologize in advance if im bumping a topic no one wants bumped)

Your system specs?
Did you install the 64bits version of VPC?
If you have a crappy PC you can forget VPC, it's resource hungry.
BTW, did you install the VPC addons in W98/VPC?
If you don't give any relevant details there isn't much we can do to help.
BTW, the full version has also the dosversion on the ISO, maybe you'd better stick with dosbox 0.73 for this game.
Read previous page.

What i did was i looked at the link to the VPC tutorial that was posted in this topic and used that downloading whatever it said i needed, yeah i got the 64 bit version. uhm... lemme look up my stats.
2 GHz processor (Dual core) 4 gigs of ram, 64-bit Vista Home Premium. If you need more lemme know, this is what i found in the system properties.
Also ive been fiddling with the dosbox. Its the file labled DOS4GW right? Whenever i use that on Dosbox, it gives me a fatal error message.
DOS/4GW fatal error (1004): syntax is DOS4GW <executable>
I appreciate any help you can offer

Good you've got it working in dosbox. It's a nice game.
BTW:
So something is going wrong there .... just saying.
Not that it really matters as you got it running in dosbox.
As I said,.... eeeuuuurrh , just saying.

On those specs Lurid Land in VPC/W98(SE) should run really fine.Goldstar wrote:2 GHz processor (Dual core) 4 gigs of ram, 64-bit Vista Home Premium.

Even better, here you have the updated to English ISO from yours truly:
Lurideng.iso - 38.77MB
Maybe better reinstall the game with the English ISO.

Could someone help me with dosbox? I belive that i did everything right, but it doesnt work.
here is what i typed:
mount c c:\vanhatpelit
mount d d:/ -t cdrom it say MSCDEX: Mounted subdirectory:limited support
d:/run
d:\cd lurideng
d:\install install completed
c:\games\lurid
c:\games\lurid\lland or dos4gw not sure which is right
DOS4GW gives me this:
DOS/4GW projected mode run-time version 1.97
copyright (c) rational systems, inc . 1990-1994
DOS/4GW fatal error (1004): syntax error DOS4GW <excutable>
and LLAND:
DOS/4GW projected mode run-time version 1.97
copyright (c) rational systems, inc . 1990-1994
ERROR: Unable to find data files.
Please check if path to cd-rom drive is valid,
or re-install game, if cd-rom drive(s) changed.
current path to data files: "c:\"
I burned the lurideng.iso to cd, because one dosbox how to video said that you have to mount your cd. I dont really know how dosbox work, so i dont know if it was right thing to do.

The english version runs perfectly in dosbox 0.73, if you really need help create a topic where it belongs: in GGTW.

Lurid Land - My simplified pack
I just made a simplification to run the english version under Windows XP (probably will work on Vista and 7 as well) by using DOSBox 0.73 and batch files compiled into .exes, with the mounting/installing/running work done for you.
Basically you just unzip it, open it and run the "Lurid Land.exe" I made, nothing else.
Someone care to try and feedback, if possible? Link:
Lurid Land.zip - 24.95MB (MediaFire)
I'm just willing to share my few programming skills to help people who are having problems to emulate it via DOS, and because I like this game a lot.
Hope you guys like it.

Runs fine metafurionx, perfect. (XP-Vista-Win7)
Tough, even if it's of course really easy for beginners that you made this nice complete package, what with dosbox upgrades? Also the SDL files change (upgrade--bug fixes....) time by time.....
They will have to learn to work with dosbox anyway when the next upgrade is out......
Another remark, even if dosbox is freeware under GNU license, you must include all the files, AUTHORS.txt, COPYING.txt .... etcetera etcetera....
Your distribution without those is in fact illegal.
[Edit]
Another small remark (no, it's not nitpicking ..... you asked feedback)
I've seen you changed dosbox.conf, nice work, but on some systems you must be able to alter the output=xxxxx to avoid graphic glitches, with yours you can't.
I would advise to keep the full dosbox.conf editable so that people can adapt if needed.
