New version DOS Games Archive launched
Yesterday we launched the new version of DOS Games Archive. It was really a lot of work (more than I imagined), but I think it was worth it. Especially converting all game information from the previous database to to new one was a daunting task. Of course creating the PHP code and the new lay-out took time too.
If you like you can take a look at www.dosgamesarchive.com. I am looking forward hearing from you what you think of it

Looks good man, congrats on the new design/features!
Someday I'd like to redo dosgames.com as well ... although I've received emails saying how people are soooo glad the design hasn't changed in the last [whatever] years and hope that it never does

Great new design Jorrit! I miss the old site, but this one gives a more fresh and clean look with Hopefully much MOAR games in the futureJorrit wrote:Yesterday we launched the new version of DOS Games Archive. Also I hope the ability to leave comments for each game returns. I loved that feature in the older version of the website.

First of all, thank you for all the kind comments! Nice to hear after the hard work
In case you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.
First I will finish the administration panel. All the screens are available, I only have to make them work the way they are supposed to (mostly database work). Some parts are already functional, for example the pages that display statistics about the 404 error messages, the number of downloads, searches and ratings. I will work on the admin during the coming weeks and then I can finally add more games to the archive. It will take only a few minutes for each game then. I already have a list of games that will be added when possible (mostly based on suggestions from visitors from the past).with Hopefully much MOAR games in the future
To be honest, this feature will not return. It's just too much work to administrate all comments. Also, by far the most comments I received in the past were not good enough to be published. I think it's better to spend time on adding new games instead of reading and deleting comments. I also have the impression that most visitors don't read them, especially when there are a lot of comments for the same game (maybe only the very first in the list). Also I hope the ability to leave comments for each game returns. I loved that feature in the older version of the website.

Seriously, just get a few moderators and you'll be good... you could probably even borrow some of the moderators from the forums here. (it's not like they're up to any good)
B-b-but... we're beyond busy. What, between the porn, this forum, the games, the time wasting and the porn...
Tst tst tst!

"Game Tip: Cannon Fodder" is actually an advertisement/"game of the moment" type thing. I don't think the title "game tip" suits it's purpose.
Also, can you make it more noticable when rating a game, where the games current rating is located?

Just wanted to let you know that I added the 250th game to DOS Games Archive today. Quite a landmark I think
Here are the last added two game:
- The Elder Scrolls: Arena
- The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall
Both are full version games!
