Need help to find this old game (use magic the gathering?)

Hi all,

I remmember that this game uses the magic setting or theme?

It uses an overview of the world and basically you have a Hero unit that represents you with a set of troops following .

You would play against the computer that has a total of 7 other different colors (including your own fraction).

Your troops and Hero would be able to perfom better with each win.

This is all i can remember at this point

i really love this game and would appreciate if anyone can remember it's name.

Much too vague.....There are thousands of such games.
Classes? Enemies? Goals? Map-town names? Power ups? Goodies?

Sound like the heroes series, or one with the same genre like disciple, and king's bounty.

I think the game you mean is Lords of Magic...just a guess!

i would guess this to, In lords of magic your units do level up if they survive.

Sounds also like heroes of might and magic to me, but it could be lords of magic also... hmm..
