Hey all, if anyone else lives in Toronto, do you think you could help me out? I'm looking for a store that sells older computers that are Windows 95/Windows 98 compatible! I've got a whole slew of old Win95/98 games that I wouldn't mind playing, but all of them either freeze or crash my new WinXP computer. Most of them demand 3DFX compatibility, so I'm seeking something like this:
Pentium II/III 300-400 MHz
128 MB RAM or so..
3D Video card, 3DFX/Direct3d compatible
10GB Hard Drive
Windows 95/98 with original CD and drivers!
If you live in Toronto and have a computer like this, or know where I can find one (new or used) please let me know!

Or you could install VPC2007+W98SE.
90% of the W95/W98/W3 games run fine in it.
Omy those who absolutely need a 3Dcard will not run.
But as most of the games from that era also have a 'software' mode....... most will run fine.

I live in Toronto but I'm not sure where you could find old PCs like this. You may wanna check online classifieds like
http://toronto.kijiji.ca/
or
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/
Other than those, you can try what dosraider suggested, or it may be time to break out your Yellow Pages and call up some local shops, they likely will have some old PC equipment they'll let you have for cheap.

Knowing emmzee he has probably a lot of older PCs stowed away somewhere.
BTW, here it's pretty simple in Belgium, you surf to a secondhand site and you can buy complete W98(SE) systems in good working order for less then a 50€.....
Look here 49€, and they even throw a printer at you ....
40€ , LMAO.
Plenty of those.

If you've got time to travel up to Shitby, there's a few stores you can find older computers. There's Model T over on I think Brock, and the Computer Warehouse on Hopkins. Give them a call before you go, though... to make sure they have older systems in stock.
If you're going to go this route, the drivers you should be able to find online fairly easily, and as for the windows 95/98, you'd probably have an easier time downloading it off the Internet somewhere.
I personally think you should go with Dosraider's suggestion, though.

All right! I shall install Virtual PC and see if that works. And I'll get back to you on that.
If I can't run most of my 3DFX games (such as Krush Kill N Destroy, Total Annihilation) then I will go and buy a cheap system somewhere.
Thanks for the advice!

KKND certainly works.
Yep, that's KKND2, KKND is not installed or now ....
Be sure that after you installed W98SE in VPC you update the drivers for it via the VMAdditions.( they are included in the VPC download).
They will give you mouse integration, better sound , improved graphics, and networking. Also you will be able then to 'share' a folder with the host OS on your HD, so you can keep the virtual HD rather small. (NEVER share a complete HD, create a folder to share.)
And VPC can also switch to full-screen ...
