BTW, graphically dated but still good is:
1942: The Pacific air war.

Certainly if you want also a 'campaign' in the game.

Yup. Too bad they didn't make European Air War that way. :(

Didn't like 'Their finest hour'.
It misses... something. :blah:

EAW on the other hand was pretty good, not a strategy game, more a 'you fly the missions in a row' kind of game, but the flying was outstanding.

Whilst we're on the subject of good flight sim, a completely other genre:
Corncob3D, ever tried that? I spend months on that one. If you didn't were careful with the available planes you would end up with only totally degraded planes who hardly could get in the air ....

I had Corncob3D on one of my old dos CDs. I could never get it to run, though :(. I had a pretty sweet WWI/WWII flight sim back in the day, I can't remember what it was called, though. Dogfight maybe? I don't remember.

CC3D runs fine in dosbox, get on it Wardrich, it's pretty good.
Has some weird gameplay sometimes, alien structures that twist your mind as if you were on LSD.... you could land your plane and plant bombs ... etcetera.
