Help me find a game.[= Challenge of the Ancient Empires]

Post by Paul Clark »

Hi i've been searching for the dos games I used to play when I was little, however there is one I have not been able to find.

The little details I can remember about this game are: that you used to enter some kind of pyramid, (maybe egypt) in this pyramid you solved puzzles, like passing on some yellow circles with some black symbols in them in order to open a door, or something. There were hazards too. The character as I can remember wore a red cap (looked like an explorer with a back pack). There were other levels or maps, and these were on a painting (I think), where there was also a blue castle like structure or temple, on a desert. One thing I can remember crearly was fighting a god from india who had six arms and shot fire balls (He didn't move, since he was like a statue). That's all I can remember. This game also looked cool, had the same kind of graphics like dangerous dave, or the second saga of commander keen (goodbye galaxy).

Please help me find this game.

Something as:
Montezuma's revenge?
http://www.mobygames.com/game/montezuma ... creenshots
Pharao's tomb?
http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/phara ... creenshots

I don't remember if there was a 'fighting a god from india who had six arms' .... it's ages since I've played those.

[Edit]
Looks @emmzee, how dare you post whilst I'm typing!!!!!!

Woo, I posted first for once :D But yeah it could also be Montezuma's Revenge ... which Pharaoh's Tomb shamelessly ripped off lol

I watched the screenshots, but none of them match the game. I remember the game being distributed in a cd, with many other games, like commander keen 4, and alien carnage as far as I can remember. I think it dates from 1992 to 1994. It might be like playing Aladin, but without the character defending himself with a weapon, just jumping around avoiding obstacles and solving puzzles. One thing a can remember at the intro of the game an old man (looking much alike to albert Einstein) laughing on a mean way, maybe due to the traps in the game. About the indian god i am certain, I think it is the boss you fight at the end of the game.

Thanks for your help.

It was the bit about the red hat and bag that tipped me off.
