Daylight saving time.
Daylight saving time.
Ah the joy, it's again daylight saving time.
02.00 becomes 03.00.
Not pleased.
Not at all.
What you think, do it really helps saving energy?
I don't believe it.
Not a word of it.

My computer thought it was today, my body hoped so too.
I badly needed that extra hour.
But apparently it's not for another week or so??

The fun(?) here in Belgium is that we are situated spot on the GMT line, means that in the winter we are GMT+1 and now with the summertime GMT+2. F*CK.
The sun says it's noon, my clock says it's 2PM.
Oh yeah, GMT doesn't exist anymore, now the correct termination seems to be UT.
UT? Universal Time? FTW? What was wrong with Greenwich Mean Time?
Pffff, viva el modern world.
We're screwed.

Where's UT come from? Greenwich?
How silly.
So...When does DST end for me?
All my uni classes were the right time by my phone...which means DST is at least still happening at my uni...

GMT is based on the zero meridian, or 0 longitude, which crosses Greenwich, hence the Greenwich Mean Time. It's from the times that England ruled the seas and drawned the charts. They decided to begin in Greenwich.
UT uses the same meridian, military (Mr.Worm?) used to call it Zulu time.

Don't know, internet says it ended last sunday in march, but not everywhere in Skippyland, and not the whole Aussie land applies DST.GAMER wrote:So...When does DST end for me?

LMAO.Australia
Main article: Time in Australia
In Australia, the decision to implement daylight saving time is left up to each state or territory. Some states and territories implement it and some do not.
New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory and South Australia apply DST on a yearly basis. Originally Tasmania alone commenced daylight saving on the first Sunday in October, while the other states began on the last Sunday in October and finished on the last Sunday in March, until 2008. From 2008 daylight saving is being extended another four weeks in NSW, Victoria, SA and the ACT, in addition to Tasmania. - Summer 2007/08 sees an extension of 1 week, commencing October 28 ('07) and concluding April 6 ('08) - Daylight saving will then run from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, from October 2008.
In 2006, the Parliament of Western Australia approved a three-year daylight saving trial to be followed by a referendum to decide whether DST should be put in place permanently. However, public opposition mounted during the first year of the trial,[13] and the WA Nationals announced a public campaign to bring the referendum forward to 2007 before 2009.[14] Three previous referendums, in 1975, 1984 and 1992, rejected DST.[15] Western Australia maintained DST in 2007 and 2008, and has not amended its start and finish dates to stay in-line with the eastern states.
The Northern Territory and Queensland do not officially have DST. Queensland experimented with DST in the early 1970s, and again in the early 1990s, but it was abandoned after a majority of residents voted against it in a 1992 referendum. It continues to be a source of controversy. The Northern Territory experimented with daylight saving in the early part of the 20th century. It was last used in 1944.

Re: Daylight saving time.
To make things even worse, half the government operated industries don't know which direction to switch back/forward to and when to do it, so we've actually ended up with a number of radio and TV stations being everything up to 2 hours out-of-sync with each other, which has proved to be very irritating. Oh, and I hate Daylight Savings. Whoever created it, can go *bleep* themselves, 'cause I honestly think it's stupid and worthless. And, UT...? I still use GMT, and always will. If the government tries to stop me, I'll raise arms against them.

I'm so glad we don't have that here. If we did, we'd have the same problem dosraider mentioned (I'm a few dozen kilometers west of GM).
Until about 2 months ago, I was sure DST worked the other way around. That would make sense so that you can make up to a bit more sunshine, and go home before it gets dark.
(UT was, is, and always will be "Unreal Tournament")
