Solar Winds in XP
Solar Winds in XP
Anyone know how to run "Solar Winds" in Windows XP? I can start it, but right when the opening narration starts the game seems to freeze, but without any visible error messages. I tried all the suggestions I found here, maybe I missed something.

Solar Winds Freezing
I'm running 98 and having same prob.
Very irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very irritating!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the same problem here and couldnt find anyway to get it to work. Using various slow down programs does not seem to work and I believe I've tried everything short of tracking down my old win95 disc and running two OS'. I think my disc may be corrupt as well  because it takes multiple tries to even access it. Anyone know where I could get a fresh copy? I'll try running it though 95 and get back to say if it works or not.
im currently in 98SE, but I think that DosBox will work the same in XP. If you don't know what dosbox is it is a dos emulator (duh!) for tons of platforms. it takes care of the speed issues for you and loads soundblaster and other drivers for you automatically. I was really surprised when all i had to do to play was calibrate my controller with out even installing it... I believe the website is dosbox.sourceforge.net but i may be wrong
