DOSBox doesn't run fullscreen with 75Hz refresh rate

Post by Vyedmic »

When I try to run Wolfenstein 3D in fullscreen i get only flickering vertical bars. After a lot of attempts I changed the refresh rate of the monitor to 60 Hz and everything runs fine. Can something be done about this? My graphics is GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB and monitor is LCD Flatpanel Belinea 15". I suspect the monitor is the culprit but I wish I'm mistaken. Thanks for help.

It is nothing I have tried, but don't your NVIDIA control panel/driver/utility have something that allows you to set certain presets when a given program is run?

If so, maybe you can set it to always run in 60 Hz mode when Wolfenstein 3D is launched?

Well it does but only for 3D settings such as Antialiasing, Anisotropic Filtering, Vertical sync but sadly no refresh rate :(

Is there any reason you need to have the monitor's refresh rate at 75 Hz?

My thinking on this is that, if there isn't any reason to switch the refresh rate back to 75 Hz, then just leave it at 60 Hz.

That's what I've done. It's either my graphics or monitor but it's a problem of dosbox as well. Just a tiny annoying bug :)
