A side scrolling game in a castle

I played this game long ago when I was very young. It would be great help if anyone can tell me the name of this game.

Here are some points i remember:

Your health is represented by a glass of blood.
In the first level, you must turn off a drill that comes out of ground by bumping a switch.
You can falling if u jump from a high place.
You attack by throwing a curvy blade straight, which later upgrades to 3 blades at once.
YOu can buy stuff from a merchant who visits u in some places.

That's all I can remember, i hope it can spark some memory back. Thanks.

I mean u can take falling damage.

Is it Prince of Persia? That seems familiar, but I don't know as much about the DOS classics as the regulars here do.

Oh dang I shoulda been able to identify that one! Owell, can't win 'em all ... I had it for the SNES ... intriguing but frustrating game.
