Text Adventure - With Graphics! Starting in a house I think.

I remember this game only very vaguely.
I know it was a text adventure game, but it had graphics.
I'm pretty sure they were fake cartoony graphics, and I think you started in a house.
One key thing I remember is that when you go into the backyard you die, as you get killed by killer bees.
I think you collect things or something... =/
I also remember it being quite popular at the time.
If anyone could help me it would be very much so appreciated =)

Didn't that happen in Hugo 2? You're trying to figure out who killed the butler or Penelope's Dad or something...

I agree with Wardrich, sounds like one of the Hugo games.

Yeh. I'd go with Hugo 1.

Killer bees, house, collecting things...sounds right.

No, not that I can remember, mummy(OMG), dog, butler, etcetera...., but no killer bees in HugoI.

HugoII: definitively killer bees.
