Space Sim/adventure game. Play against the computer
Ok, there's this old game I used to play, not sure if it was DOS or not, but it was pretty fun. Basically, you picked your name and your spaceship and how many enemies there were (up to 3, I think). Each one of you started in a different quadrant of a randomly generated space map. Your goal was to go to all the uninhabited planets, get resources from them, and build your empire. After you had sucked all of the resources from a planet, you could then place some colonists there and start building up its different buildings (like, space dock, education, industry, farming). There was a store on some planets (with high enough economy and stuff) where you could buy cool new weapons for your ship or expensive things like a hyperdrive. I distinctly remember the "electronic sucking" sound that gathering resources from a planet made, as well as being able to buy nuclear warheads for your battles with the enemy. I think it may have been shareware, since the pause menu had a long sequence of the programmer begging for money.
Any ideas? I thought I originally got it from Dosgames.com, but I can't find it there.

There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who do not.
Oh yes, you are, certainly.Rockerest wrote:*bump* (Yes, I am an annoying prick)
...but not really...
And somewhere I know that game, but it's soo long ago, can't remember the name.
Could you draw a pic or two of the game or so?
Not that I really believe it would trigger my ol'memory, but at least it would amuse us all here.
*sigh*
Ah well, I suppose if I've already made a bad impression, there's no point in keeping any sort of dignity.
Picture in an upcoming edit.
