Duke Nukem 3d - Wont run in WinXP
When I execute the game, the dos window appeart fine...loads textures and crap, sound, video...then it just hangs there with a black screen. Could you help?
I would suggest using the Compatibility tool to make the game run in Windows 95 mode. Make sure that the game is set to run fullscreen. In addition to this you need to run NoLFB from here-

to enable VESA modes.
What sound card do you have and does it have any DOS legacy support? It would probably also be worth your while using VDM Sound from here-

I also suggest VDMsound. It has some compatibility options that are useful. Also, if I recall, Duke Nukem uses the BUILD engine, which means running CLI2NOP (read about it here: http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=31 ). It makes the game a little more unstable by removing commands that don't work on new systems, but it lets the game run. What sound card do you have and does it have any DOS legacy support?
