Quake goes really slowly in DOSbox

So I d/led Quake 1 demo from a website, and it goes super slowly in DOSbox. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Increase the frameskip: ctrl+F8

lol frame skipping only decreases the load on the cpu... it does not dedicate more power to the game tho. (thus no speed gain unless you have the cycles set to an appropriate amount to begin with.)

DUH!! I've asked how someone can literaly increase the speed in dosbox but none bothered to answer

That's so wierd. It says the d/l is 337 KB, but I'm already d/ling 800+ KB of information.

Verbs and conjunctions rock.


At any rate, does anyone know how to have it play the music? Quake has music right?

Yea use WinQuake, as Vangar suggested. It works pretty well.
