i wasnt sure how/where to look to do a search... yes im pretty much a forum nub...


ok, how do u turn off the computer sounds when ur playing those old dos games?

i know like in keen and u jump and u have the annoying <blip> sound coming from ur computer?

Open your computer, find your PC speaker, should look like a tweeter, most likely attached to your case or CD/Floppy holder, disconnect the cords.

hmmm... i dont really want to void my warranty yet.../i dont really know the insides of my pc well yet...

are there any other less physical ways?

thanks for suggestion though, i never thought of it...

play dosgames in dosbox and turn your normal speakers off. (or disable sound emulation in dosbox)

ALSO:
most dosgames have the possibility to "kill" the sound.

Keen : can be done in the config screen.
Others : try hitting the "S" key once, or one of the Funtion keys.
Look for a readme or such ....

Oh, sorry, didn't realize that you still had warrenty. I built mine from scratch and put the pc speaker on a switch, its cheap, but it works.
