Help naming an old game?

Post by sam_at2001 »

Hi guys

I'm trying to find the name of an old (but I think fairly popular) game - I'm pretty sure it was a DOS game but I know for sure it was on the old atari and commodore etc back in the 1980s.

Basically, its like an adventure game with a view which is similar to a birds eye view but it's at a slight angle - imagine looking into a box straight from the top, then moving slightly backwards and to the right - sorry this isn't very clear but its the only way I can describe it really. (I suppose it's similar to the viewpoint in 'The Sim's'

Each screen is a different room (which this same perspective) and I think you can jump. I'm not sure what the point of the game was (in that I don't know what you collect etc) but I have a feeling you are a scuba diver and you collect treasure - although I could be completely wrong about this :(

I know this is very vague and I'm sorry about that - it's just that it's a game I played when I was younger and I'm pretty sure they released it for DOS too.
If it helps, I have a feeling they released several similar style games (and I have a funny feeling they released a Batman game with a similar perspective on the old Spectrum) so I don't know if this helps anyone.

Head Over Heels! Not a Scuba Diver game, but the same company made a Batman game in the same isometric view, which gave it away. Here is a link to the great remake by retrospec: http://retrospec.sgn.net/game-overview.php?link=hoh

I love this game, glad to see someone else played it too.

Hmm...thanks for the suggestion but I don't think it's that - it's from that same viewpoint though so maybe its a similar style game.

Only thing I can think of is Solstice for the NES.
