Metal Gear 2: soild snake

Hey,

I am having trouble with Metal Gear 2: Soild Snake. When i run the game it runs way to slow and i tried using the F8 and F12 buttons but that doesnt work. i'm using DOSBox in XP . Help would be much appreciated
