Wally, ower perception of "OLD" will probably differ, "old" for me are games who fit on a 360 flop.

There was Phantasmagoria, but I don't think that it had 8 cd's, but I know it had a heckuva lot.

Phantasmogaria was on 7 CD's.
Blade Runner was also a multiple CD game ( 4 /5 ?),
Gabriël Knight (6)
Obsidian, (multiple ?)
Ripper (6 CD's)
Bleu Heat (?)
And Harvester, but would not call that a puzzle game.
And don't forget the WC Privateers.....

And yes, Myst and Riven is great games. Riven is my favourite game.

not quite sure what the game is. what esle do you remember about it
and does anyone know where to get phantasmogoria
One time I had a Jack and coke and it had a lime in it, And I saw that the lime was floating. That's good news man. Next time I'm on a boat and it capsizes, I'll reach for a lime... I'll be water skiing without a life preserver and people'll say 'What the hell?' and I'll pull out a lime...and a lemon too. I'm saved by the buoyancy of citrus.

I think I was wrong. I was not a very old game. It could be Black Dahlia from 1997.

i wish you all the luck both to find it and to solve it. Black Dahlia and Ripper are games that have impossible to figure out puzzles.
