They are all shareware / freeware games, so you should have no legal problems.

Playing them at school might violate some sort of user agreement though.

Of course it's legal to play DOS games! The only thing that's illegal is DOS emulators.
About liking stupid games, well you have to admit there are plenty of stupid and strange games that are lots of fun. Pac-Man and Space Invaders for example. The gameplay is simple, the mission is ridiculous, yet it's still lots and LOTS of fun!!

DOS emulators illegal?

And it might be illegal to play DOS games if they were downloaded without permission, just as it would be illegal to download any other full version game. It's just that in this case all the ones on DOSgames.com are legal.

Dos emulators or any other emulators are not illegal in themselves (unless they stole some bios or something from orginal source but that's another story), it depends on the programs that you use with those emultors that are legal or not. As Dosser mentioned it depends on what games you download.

Take a similarly illustration, you cannot say a TV or computer is bad. It is the programs that you watch or use on the TV or computer that is bad or good such as one with extreme violence or educational documentary.
