Ideas to liven up boards

Post by Moo »

Recently I have decided that we should do something over here at DGF to liven up the chit chat and to try to make this a fun place to hang out. Of the above choices, what do you think will be a fun to do as a community. If you choose other, please explain idea.

I think something like a weekly comic panel done by various artistic users would be pretty cool.

DGF is already a fun place for me to hang out. But I have to say a story written by numerous members releated to computing and DOS. Like a bad guy sending a virus that deletes your current OS and replaces it with Win3.1
Speaking of stories..... What ever happened to the canidian invasion story? Some people must have gotten lazy. I would really like to see the conclusion......

Dogbreath, I somewhat remember the awards but I don't know what ever did happen to them. GameMaster.exe, the invasion story was from a long long time ago. If I remember correctly, it was carried over from the previous board.

We had a total of 2 contests for prizes, if thats what you mean. The prizes were books from Amazon.com. Jorrit (of DOSGamesArchive.com fame) and Wally were the two lucky winners. I could run another one, but I doubt it would help people become more active. An idea I had was to pickup some classic games at EBGames or something, and have a contest for those. It'd be a lot more work for me (shipping out the games etc) so that would have to wait awhile until I'm less busy (I'm moving back to school next week!)

And its your turn to write the next part of the Anti-AOL squad. I posted a new part a month ago.

You mean a java game??

Hey thats an idea..

MZ: for your contest why not use www.play.vg and get users to set a high score???

I would play but not to count towards results.. Besides would bump Play.vg up a bit and then give users an opportunity to test your games to see if they work

hey I loved Dosgames..and came here like everyday, but I found a few of the veterans at the time were pretty rough to the newcomers.. Gave them a hard time for misspelling words and whatnot..and I talked to a lot of them through PM and that was there reason for leaving..? just a thought!

I think though any of the choices above would be a good way to get more people intersted, So I'm neutral on either one
