XP's DOS-Mode
I ran DOS Mode with XP's DOS-Mode Disk, and, with an NTFS file-driver, got my hard-disk running. I tried to run Doom- it hung. I then ran Duke Nukem, which said "Not Enough Memory". How do I get more memory in XP-DOS?
Hi,
I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean in your first sentence. If you're running Windows XP then Doom and Duke can both be persuaded to work. You don't need to worry about DOS proper since Windows XP's console should be up to running these games.
Just double-clicking Doom.exe should work. For Duke you may need to run Ken Silverman's NoLFB program first and then double-click Duke3D.exe. This will allow you to access the game's VESA modes for better graphics.

Did you load Himem.sys and emm386.exe etc?
