if i try to install anything, unless on a cd, it starts installing then it just closes the window...(sorry if this is in the wrong place)... anyways if you could help that would be awsome!
The program you are most likely running is a dos program. You could use dosbox to run.
However, if you want to see the error message, right-click on the .exe that you are running, choose properties. Then choose 'Program' tab and uncheck the close on exit box. Then click okay.
The next time you run the file, the dos window would not close and you can see the error message.
