Nothing works well at all

I've got dosbox and figured out how to use it. Also I've got d-fend which i find very useful, however I am coming across a lot of problems, all the games I use run incredibly slow. I've got a PC 1.6Ghz and 512mb of ram. But all the games run very very slow to the point where you can't even play them properly at all.

What am I doing wrong? I've scaled the cycles up and down, altered the memory but nothing seems to work. Can someone please tell me am I over looking something?

TO note, I do not have a graphics card, I'm using onboard internal 32mb intel graphics crap.

Can someone please help me

Maybe the missing graphics card is the problem, but not sure here. I have one, and DosBox never worked well on my machine. Yet, I am quite happy - at least most of the time - with VDSM, ever tried that?
