Need help getting Elder Scrolls: Arena to work

It goes waaaaaay to slow in Dosbox no matter how much I fool with the frameskip and cycles, and when I run on regular dos prompt I get a "not enough EMS" error. Please help.

Have you increased its used memory under the properties tab?

I recall having a spot of trouble myself with this game...

Ok, this is wierd, because when I go to properties, click on the memory tab, it lets me change conventional memory, extended (XMS) memory, and MS-DOS protected mode (DPMI) memory, but under EMS, there is just a blank spot. I would take a screenshot of it, but I don't know how.
