XP troubles

Post by Some Guy »

Ive got a couple of windows 9X based games such as Freespace and Earthsiege II but they still blow up with the not suitable for windows or ms-dos message when i try to install them. i tried DOSBOX but that says it "must be in Windows to run." Any ideas? if all else fails I will reformat and go to win 98 but i wanted to know if there was a solution out there. (WINBOX maybe?)

There are some W9X games that are a real pain in the a*** if you want them to tun on XP(usual W95 games).
Winbox ? you can try microsoft vurtual pc , but you need a real heavy uptodate pc to get W9X running through it.
Format the whole stuff ? No, dual boot XP /W98se and you will be in heaven.
Get yourself an partition manager and make a W98 boot partition before the XP partition, you only need about 1 gig and it runs comfortable, also make a games partition using FAT32, i'ts accessible by XP / W98....also look on the hardware section, enough stuff about this there .
:)
