When I was littler even than I am now, my cousin and I, in a fit of boredom, went rifling through my grandmother's antique computer and found a game called Captain Comet. It was a really dorky game... you walked around, collecting cola cans that let you spit fireballs or something. But we enjoyed it and played, played, played until we finally beat the game... And discovered it was only the first part of many, that were no where to be found!
Anyway, it's several yeasr later now, but I still find myself thinking back on Captain Comet. Does anyone know anything about this game? Where it might be found? Who made it? Just general information.
Thanks!
Captain Comet!
You're close, it's actually Captain Comic ![Happy :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

There was a sequel (Captain Comic 2: Fractured Reality) however the author (Michael A. Denio) no longer holds the rights to it (I spoke with him recently via email). The company that now apparently owns the rights may or may not exist ... so unfortunately the legality of posting that game here is rather up in the air still. If you search around the web you may still find it however, posted by more daring sites than mine

Thanks, emmzee!
I actually, shortly after posting this, did some googling on the things I could remember from the game... And found out about the Captain Comic.
Funky!
Fractured Reality is actually the one we played... I can't express to you the agony we felt the day we completed the game and realized we -still- hadn't (and never wound) beat The Captain's high score.
But, hey! One of the great mysteries of my childhood has been solved.
If you talk to the author anything soon, and feel inclined... Please tell him his game lighted and entertained hours and hours of time for two young, obsessed girls.

You can also find Captain Comic 2 at <html><a href=http://www.dosgames.com/~dgonline/index ... </a></html>, though unfortunately it's only the shareware version. ![Happy :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)
(Unless the company that currently owns it said that the shareware version could no longer be distributed I'll take that it's perfectly legal to distribute)

Despite the fact that its listed as shareware on Joris' site, it's really not
There apparently was never a shareware version of the game. Here's the email I got from Mr Denio:

I'm sure he wouldn't mind me posting it hereDarren,
Thanks for your message. On a personal level, I don't have
any problem with you distributing Comic2. However, I can't
give you permission to distribute the ComputerEasy version
of the game because I don't own the company. Also, the license
agreement is part of the packaging and not part of the
executable. There is no version of the game other than the
CE version.
A number of people have written me to say they've lost the code
sheet for the game. Here is a text version that may come in
handy.
So if you choose to put it on your site, you don't have to
worry about me, but if someone else comes along claiming to
represent ComputerEasy or with some other legal claim, I'll have
to make it clear that I did not give you permission to distribute
the game.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Mike

emmzee, I recently dug out my copy of this game, but I only have the floppies and the box. Do you think you could forward me the code sheet or direct me to where I could obtain a copy? I would like to show my friends this game at a LAN party that's coming up soon. Thanks. I can be reached at [email protected]
