Lost Vikings 2. Got lost on my machine...

Post by Sorcerdon »

I downloaded a version - from somewhere.

I dont even remember from where - took me an hour to set the god damn thing up. But it loaded and worked.

Problem: Every now and then It just quits. The Cirlcing Brace thing just keeps circling (its the loading icon in the game)

im running on XP proff. 800 mhz.

Questioon is why isnt it working???

I see all. Warning, becareful what you do.
IF you are using Firefox, Netscape, or Internet Explorer, I could see you and where you live.

I suggest that you download ZSNES and the SNES ROM of Lost Vikings 2. That's how it was meant to be played.

Yes I know all about that.
I had the game for PC b4. With the CD and everything and it was SOO awsome.

The Snes version of the game has graphics likethe game #1. Its boring and is not fun. I want the original from the PC version to work.

The SNES version is better gameplay-wise. Controls aren't as responsive and smooth in the PC version, believe me, as I played both.

I personally find the graphics of the PC version ugly. Much more advanced, yes, but ugly.

The voice acting also sucks major ass.

I find it strange that you give so much emphasis to graphics and yet you still play old DOS games.

Anyhow, I just tried running the PC version of LV2 on WinXP. I couldn't get it to work, despite having the CD. The DOS setup program works, but the game doesn't run. The Windows setup program wouldn't even install it. I remember it as a problematic game back then, guess it's even more problematic on newers OSes.

yes I had to install in "Dos Style" - meaning no installation... just file copy...

and it did run... with graphics but it just froze sometimes...

btw im trying to run it - not the SNES version. So please i need help with the NON Snes game. I dont like that they look just like they do in game 1..... BOOORING

OK, I managed to get it to run through DOSBox, using a full DOS installation (102 megs). What you need to do is set the sound blaster parameters in DOSBox and in TheVoice.exe to be identical. However, your 800MHz machine may be too slow for that. DOSBox requires a really fast machine to run heavy games at good speed.

My LV2 copy also just stopped sometimes. The strange thing was, I used the windows 95 version on the cd, and it would only freeze if it was on full screen; but never if it was minimalisized (uh). Weird... :(

It was a crappy port from the very beginning. Seems like something that was programmed by blid monkeys.

I said that the port to the PC sucked, not the game. The game rocked.
