Perestroika: stuck on title screen

Post by pipeline109 »

Trying to run Perestroika in XP. (I thought it would be interesting, being a Russian student.) I get to the title screen with the crumbling Kremlin and Gorbachev head. Then it quits. I can't push anything to make it advance. I have to get out of it by alt+tab.

I am not using DOSbox or any other such utility.

The title screen and the game itself may be two different programs, one running first, then the other one immediately running after. It appears that the first program works fine, but the 2nd one crashed.

DOSBox may help, go ahead and try it. However, if you run XP Command Prompt, then run it from there, you may catch an error message. If you can, tell us what it is.

Sorry,
There is only one .exe and Dosbox didn't solve it.

The second program could be embedded someplace else. It doesnt have to be a .exe file

If I recall correctly it could be one of the following:
COM
BAT
EXE
PIF
