This is a declaration of war, ladies and gentlemen!
The people of the Nation of Gamehippo, currently run by the Communist Kitten Party, has declared war upon you.
This is a war game. It will be between the users of DOS Games and Gamehippo. You will have an opportunity to defend yourselves. You will need about six or seven people at least. Post here if you want to play.
Rules of play:
There will be one president/prime minister/dictator (etc.) who will serve as the master strategist for each military.
The rest will be generals in charge of an army numbering in the thousands of men.
If you wish, you may have a navy. A navy will be helpful in combat, but will put more of a drain on the economy.
Each day of the simulation, you will have a seven hour window to send your command. You must send commands between 5PM and 12AM to my PM box. For each hour you send a command, that will represent one day.
5- Day 1
6- Day 2
7- Day 3
8- Day 4
9- Day 5
10- Day 6
11- Day 7
You may only send one command a day, the earlier the better. I understand people live all over the world, so please inform me your time zone according to GMT. For example, I live in Indiana, which has time -500, meaning I'm five hours behind Greenwich Time.
Your commands must be as specific as possible. You can split your army into corps, but they must be in units of 1,000.
The commands should be in this format:
Movement: Yes or no.
Direction: Cardinal directions, cities, or landmarks/natural features
Pace: Speed of troop movement.
Reconnaissance in effect: Gives a good idea of enemy locations and enemy numbers. Very slow pace!
Cautious Advance: May give a better idea of enemy locations and enemy numbers. Slow pace.
Evasive Retreat: Allows the army to avoid troops. Slow pace.
Standard Advance: A routine march. Standard pace.
Speedy Advance: A speedy march that may tire troops. Fast pace.
Full Retreat: A retreat at fastest speed possible. Very small protection against enemy attacks. Fast pace.
Forced Advance: A forced march that makes troops extremely tired. Very fast pace.
Battle Posture: How a battle is fought.
Guerilla: Unorganized and quick attacks against enemy installations. (No order of battle)
Defensive: The battle is fought avoiding enemy fire.
Aggressive: The battle is fought with vigor.
Occupation: Suppresses guerilla warfare. Some troops will be come unavailable to hold the territory.
Fortify: Builds trenches that are especially effective against aggressive foes. More effective with less movement.
Order of battle: Numbers of troops on each wing and number in reserves (if applicable)
When one army captures the enemy capital for three weeks, the war is over.
You may not use nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons.
The navies are equipped with jets for limited aerial strikes.
Any questions? Post them here.
Oh, and once the army is formed, I'd recommend starting coordinating the attack. There are no rules against talking to other generals.
