Windows 2000 or XP for gaming

Post by Frede »

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I have searched but not found it.
If playing old games (DOS games), which OS is better?

XP has compatibility mode which 2000 does not. The computer I am installing on is an old 266 Pentium 3 with only 128 MB RAM. I will run mainly old games, since the computer is too slow for any newer games.

What do you think?

you can also use Mac OS to play dos when you have a dos card.

I have one and it rocks.

LOL, that was a new approach. Toss my old PC and buy a MAC with a DOS card! I love your attitude. 8-) btw I have upgraded it with more mem so I now have 256 MB ram. It's the same or better performance with XP compared to Windows 2000, so I think i'll go with XP. Thanks anyway
