DOS freezes :/

okay, i downloaded a bunch of old games that i played back in the day before the internet kept me amused...

now, when i open them [from the desktop] they open up in DOS then just freeze! i either have to ctrl-alt-del or hit the restart button.
i then tried opening DOS on its own [from start menu] and it also froze.

not cool.
any idea whats causing this and how i could fix it?
any help here would be much appreciated. i cant wait to play these games!

-im on win95

i used to play the games on this here semi-dinosaur computer.
computer went un-used for .... 4? years. and i got it revived a couple of weeks ago [had to take it to the store, get windows put back on.]

the solution: Re install windows. With 95 you have to reinstall 3 times a week which is a pain in the anus

If i was you dont install windoze 95 it is the worst OS ever try going with windows 98 (slightly better) or just plain dos will do

If you must get win 95c which usually fixes all bugs..

okay, i have a win98 install for a NEW PC here -- that wont do it, will it? as i will need the win98upgrade, is this correct?

If you want to keep the stuff you already have on Windows 95, then you will need the upgrade.

If you don't mind getting rid of everything on your computer, that CD should do fine.

i finally got the games to work!

i did a little more snooping around on google.... anyway. one site was saying something about the 'window' or 'full screen' mode [in properties]
so i switched it to full screen -- it works!

okay.... so ts running.
but on commander keen 4, in some places, the graphics are all scrambled :/
thats alright, i wil play the other games

but if any one has any idea on what could be causing the graphics being all scrambled -- let me know
