Dosbox Windows2000 problem

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if DosBox doesn't work in windows 2000. I try to run the doxbox exe, and all the program seems to do is hang.

I thought it would act like a dos prompt etc..

Some tips that may or may not help:

Make sure you are using DOSBox 0.61
Edit dosbox.conf and try changing some settings (try disabling sound and stuff like that)
Try closing all the programs in your system tray, and try to close all other programs before running DOSBox

Also try rebooting, then try to use DOSBox.
