16 bit MS.DOS subsystem (help please:( )

when i open DOS games windows sends a message : It says that the system archive isnt apropiate for running MS-DOS and Windows aplications (Something like that) and then i have to click the close button. Any Dos games run!!!!!!
Could somebody help? PLEASE???

I really want to remember those times......

I am not honestly sure what thios problem is since I have had this one too. I suspect this has something to do with some old dos driver and windows doesn't allow it to contact memory or something..

Anyhow to solution I would use Dosbox/DosEmu etc.. etc

but if your games you need to run are as Z, Menzoberranzan Warlords 2 or something big like that. I would suggest VDMSound to try to run those. and there is lots of help on these forums to config windows XP/2000.

I have seen an 1-5 game that I couldn't run on Windows XP Pro nor Windows 2000. which needed orginal dos or at least win98, but believe me you ain't taking about those.
