I had a problem, which I fixed, but since I lost a computer of mine I cannot find something I now need again. I know that sounds odd, but this was the problem and the solution. I wanted to play Simcity (the very first version) and the FONT for some reason looked all strange. I contected Maxis and they had no clue what I was talking about. I finally found a web site that told that a certain font was removed in the VESA standard since they figured it was not needed and they wanted to use the memory that would be freed up if it was taken out. I downloaded the DOS driver that they provided and presto the font was fixed.
Does anyone know where I can get this driver again to provide this font back? I cant remeber for the life of me where I got it from and I've looked as best I could, but you know what its like trying to find a driver on the web. Anyway the driver is to provide this font back to VESA, maybe this place even has it I dont know. Please email me or reply here if you know where I can get this VESA fix again.
Thanks DOS dudes and dudetts !

Ok I found it.
Now I feel bad, I just found the place that I got the fix from. Honestly I did just find it again, as I knew I found it before. Hehehe I never give up on something if I want it bad enough. Ya it was the 8x14 font that was removed, this is from the site below talks about it and has the driver ...
" On the recommendation of the VESA committee many producers of graphics cards removed the 8x14 font from their graphics cards BIOS' to gain more space to implement the latest VBE functions. "
Well I'm happy to become a member here, I guess I should have become one sooner as I love DOS allot and use it everyday, I just really needed this driver and didn't know where else to go. The link for this driver is below if you need it.

I'm glad you found it, Tyler! Now you're morally obligated to create a web site that explains the fix so that others in the future don't get similarly stuck (only joking! ).
Seriously though, I know exactly that situation. You discovered a fix to some obscure problem before and can't for the life of you find it again now you need it. My Internet Explorer favourites are composed of hundreds of links I've added just so that I don't have to go through that experience.
And you're lucky really. The rate the web's changing that site could have been long gone.
