I played Raptor for months on end way back in 1994. More than I played DooM even. And I still play it.

Though I will check out Tyrian 2k.

Not much point in comparing them because they are so way different (Raptor and Tyrian). Of course they share similar concepts like vertical scrolling airplanes and buying ship enhancements, but it's pretty much a matter of opinion than quality.

It's easy to say that the Pentium is better than the 486, but saying Raptor is better than Tyrian or vice versa is kinda weird to me.

using elements of a scrolling space ship shooter and the fact that u have to kill enuff guys to get money and upgrade ur ship to win
