mouse problems

Post by ComputerWolf »

whenever i attempt to play an old dos games that use a mouse such as duke nukem 3d or raptor, often when i attempt to move the mouse to the right, it stops too soon, as if the edge of the screen is there, sometimes even stopping in the middle. after so many tries of clicking and moving the mouse, it will become "unstuck" and move all the way over. Yet not after too long, it will stop again and be unable to move the full width of the screen. I have also had it happen that it gets stuck going to the bottom as well, but not as frequent. It is almost as if the area for the mouse to move in becomes smaller, or it thinks the side of the screen is sooner than it really is. I have also tried multiple games, so it is just not one game's glitch. Any help would be appreciated.

1. Try a different mouse
2. Try a different mouse driver like CuteMouse
3. If you are using PS/2 mouse, try Serial. Or vice versa
4. Try changing mouse sensitivity.
5. Try pure DOS mode (or if you used DOS mode already, try running it in Windows).
