getting graphics to work right in dos

Post by guest »

i just downloaded and ran keen 4, but while playing, whenever the background scrolls (i.e. i move keen far enough that the background has to move) the graphics in the bottom 3rd of the screen look all shifty and screwy. can anyone help? much appreciated if someone could.

it could be your video card..

Try running keen in dos by going to start and then shutdown
select run in MS-DOS mode

my computer won't restart in ms-dos mode. when i tried, it wouldn't respond but stayed on... the monitor shut off as if it were shutting down. it was all very strange. i tried the way it told me in windows help, by selecting 'restart' and holding ctrl while it does, but that just plain didn't work. neither did holding f8. any more suggestions?

hmmm...
you need to press the f8 button just before the wintrash logo.

you could however go to c:\windows in windows and then look for run ms-dos game with ems or XMS support..

Or get a bootdisk
