games run painfully slow in xp. please help!!

i dont know if you remember the jill of the jungle series, but im trying to get them running on my machine (celeron 850, 256mb, nivida tnt2, windows xp), dos opens and the game starts, but its is extremly slow, the sound and video goes down to around 1 frame per second

i have all the memory on auto, and i tried all of them on the max, but to no avail

please help me!

have you tried dosbox the emulator?

Jill of the jungle should work with that.
