How do i get railroad tycoon working in dos without it hanging?
And is it possible to work on Windows or even Windows XP?
What about Pinball Fantasies in Windows XP ? and the previous pinball games is that series.?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

In general, for DOS games, the slower the computer, the better. If you have a Pentium 4 or something like it, some DOS games may have a hard time co-operating with such fast hardware. As well, Windows ME/98/95 are better for DOS games than Windows XP is.

That said, it is possible to get most DOS games running on the newest computers.

There are diverse methods to accomplish this, ranging from easy to hard:

1. Disable L2 cache (sometimes that's not possible)
2. DOSBox http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
3. Virtual PC/Bochs/etc. with FreeDOS
4. Maybe more

What you can do for the time being is run the games, and if they screw up, try to give us an accurate description of what happened. That will make it much easier for us to help you.

i just reloaded railroad tycoon to play for the first time in a while, but I forgot how to "build tracks" and have lost the instruction book?

i believe its the numpad keys, and shift to double track, but I lost mine years ago and cant find one on the internet to download
