I loved those games! They were both for Windows 3.1 (though Pipe Dreams was for multiple platforms).

Chips Challenge isn't freeware, Microsoft has the copyright. You can Google an abandonware site that you can download it from but it's against the rules to post a link.

There is an old thread dedicated to this game, you know ;)

http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic ... lenge.html

As for downloading ... well, there is a no abandonware rule on this forum. However, luckily for you an exception has been made for the one site that carries this game: The Underdogs. :) Enjoy:

Extract? It means you have to decompress the files from the winzip archive... you can get Winzip at http://www.winzip.com/ .

Anything that extracts zip files is probably functionally the same as winzip. Is it giving you an error message?

:upset:

File compression, or "zipping," essentially locates repeating strings in the files and then saves a single copy of said string along with location of the bytes that that specific string occupies. In practice it helps cut down the size of large application.

Anyhow, I'll assume you've got it running? :)

(BTW: There are tons of great games for the PC that can kick Morrowind’s ass... you only have to look ;))

This is a good site that teaches you about downloading/unzipping/running games that you find on the web:

What time-zone do you live in, Becky? The time on these boards are set to display the time in Greenwich, England. You can change it to wherever you live in your profile.

Chip's Challenge is a great game. So good that my username is named after a level in it (Metastable To Chaos was the full name of the level).
