The Need For Speed SE ain't working!!!

Post by DJ WolfDevil »

Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 2.66 GHz
Operating System: Win XP
Video Card: Intel® 845GV Integrated Graphics

The Need For Speed SE works like a charm on my old Win 95 but every time I attempt to install it to my brand spankin' new Win XP, the screen blanks, kicks me back to the desktop and the following message pops up:

Application Error:F:\INFSW.EXE

The instruction at 0041a004 referenced memory at 000b0000
The memory could not be written :shifty:

Is there a program or anything out there that could jumpstart my installation?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I cannot get NFSSE to work on anything but Windows 95. The full version of the game is Dual Executable for Dos and Windoes 95. I dont think its ment to be soz :(

have you tried installing it in dos?

press f8 (stimultanieously) while starting your computer up
then boot up into dos.

I also get a memeory error message when i try to install NFSSE. However, if you end task the frozen install file, then run it again straight away, it works :) but, problem one, you still get the error message and have to end task before running again. Problem 2, the sound and video both skip and reverberate. One fix for the sound is VDMSound. Downloadable from VDMSound.com (i think). I haven't tried it yet, because I still can't find a fix for the video. And even if I did, I would need a fix for running the game in the first place. XP must be an acronym for eXtra Pothetic. Obviously old Bill :karate: doesn't want us running the DOS games from his era.
