keyboard/mouse don't work

Post by Peregrine »

I recently decided to get back into level making for the excellent and still fun Doom 2. I tried using the newer windows based editors but none of them work quite as well as good old WadEd v1.83. Unfortunately, whenever I try to run Waded the program loads just find but neither my keyboard or mouse work. I've tried DosBox and it works but soooo slowly it could take weeks to get anything done. I tried all the compatability mode tweaks with no success. I'm using Windows XP Home with all the available updates, a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, and HP Multimedia/Internet Keyboard. Anyone know if I can fix this? Thanks ahead of time.

Try going to the dosbox config file which is in the start menu > dosbox

Then look for cpu cycles and set it to 7000 or 10000 which ever you prefer

It should work great after that

do they both use USB? USB and DOS don't get along together.

Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with a Pentium 233 MHz or higher processor and 128MB of RAM O.o thats the mouse requirements

Dosbox works fine with my USB mouse wardrich ;)

Thanks Wally, that sped it up quite a bit. Now, I'm off to create some fun co-op levels. :)
