Screen size in DOS

Post by Arthur the Lamb »

When I'm playing X-Com (the first one) on my 1024x768 monitor, the game never stretches to fill the screen, it just occupies a really small area. Does anyone know what to do?

BTW, I can't adjust any of the DOS properties by right-clicking on the X-Com icon

I asume you mean that the game runs at 60hz in DOS and your monitor has a black frame around the screen. If so there are utils to load in dos that will change the refresh to something useful (75-85hz), think its called UniRefresh found here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download404.html

The supported video cards are listed

Its possible that the game is just using a different resolution that has never been configured properly on your monitor ... so try just using the buttons on your monitor to fix the resolution. It shouldn't screw up your windows 1024 resolution ..... I don't think it should anyways ;)
