how to get Dinosauri Balls to work?

i want to play my favorite old game Dinosauri Balls (Pang clone). when i run the exe on WinXP the game runs for a little moment (1 second or less) then it freezes. and that's all. but it dosn't lock up the whole PC. i mean i can hit windows button on keyboard and then close dos prompt box right clickin' the window tab in the system tray. so what's the problem? how to get it workin'?

p.s. i don't remember exactly, but it seems, that about year ago this game was running on the same PC with the same OS!

i forgot to mention that i have already tried every tip from http://www.dosgames.com/xphints.php and it didn't help
