Looking for title of game with mages, orcs, etc...

Post by Guest »

I am looking for an old DOS game that started out in a village where you could collect some money and supplies then you go down a ladder to the next level. You could not see where you were in the level until you had moved through a portion of it. You would continue to collect coins and weapons and supplies and occasionally you would be attacked. You would have text messages like "You find a level 1 mace" "A Level 1 orc attacks" "You find a Level 1 spell book". To start the game you create your own character from types like elf, wizard, dwarf, and you could set their levels of strength, wisdom, magic, etc... Does anyone know what this game is.

Sounds probably like Castle Of The Wind, or maybe Vampyr... But I don't remember any of that stuff in either of those games.

I continued to search through other entries in this forum and late last night (December 9) I found some entries mentioning Steve Moraff and it clicked. The game I was looking for was Moraff's Revenge.

Morraff's Revenge... thought so. ;) Try Morraff's World-it's like Morraffs revenge but at least 20 times better in every way-seriously. Also you could try Morraff's Dungeons of the Unforgiven (get it at dosgames.com) but it's not as good as world. *Starts drueling thinking about Morraff's World*

wtf are you guys talking about? the description the guy gave for the game just stereotyped 99% of all d&d-style games. including Mordor, both the Castle of the Wind, the Adom, Netrogue, and a thousand others.
